This two day course on site at Rejuven8 Training teaches you to deliver safe and successful treatments with Advanced Botulinum Toxin.

You will be able to treat patients and gain insurance on successful completion of the Advanced day (provided you have already completed a Foundation Botox course with live cases).

1. Pre-Requisites

Prescribing medical professionals only (must hold current independent prescribing rights in the UK):

Important: All delegates must have completed a Foundation Botox course (with live supervised cases) before attending this Advanced course.

This advanced Botox course is designed for medically qualified practitioners who are registered with an appropriate regulatory body (such as GMC, NMC, or GDC) and who also hold an independent prescribing qualification. It is intended for clinicians looking to expand their expertise into advanced aesthetic and medical applications, including conditions such as hyperhidrosis, where diagnosis and prescribing are required. The course provides in-depth training in advanced facial anatomy, patient assessment, and complex injection techniques using Botox across areas including the lower face, neck, and axillae. Participants will develop the ability to create individualised treatment plans, deliver safe and effective outcomes, and manage complications confidently. Strong emphasis is placed on clinical reasoning, ethical practice, consultation skills, and compliance with current legal and regulatory standards to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

Course Length: 2 days

Day 1 (Theory & Simulation)

• Theory: Anatomy, Physiology (advanced muscle groups: masseter, DAO, platysmal, orbicularis oris, mentalis)
• Administration: Handling, Record Keeping, POM regulations, batch recording
• Patient Selection and Consultation: Consultation, Valid Consent, Treatment Costs, Contraindications, Pre and Post Care, Ethical Issues
• Treatment Issues: Pre-treatment Procedure, Product Selection, Dosage and Syringe Selection, Positioning the Patient, Injection Techniques (simulated), Post Treatment Procedures
• Handling Complications: Diplopia, dysphagia, asymmetric smile, lip incompetence, paradoxical bulging, anaphylaxis
• Practical Experience of Injection Techniques (Hands-On Training on manikins / silicone pads) – 12 areas (see list below)
• Continuing Professional Development: Practitioners’ Responsibility for Maintaining and Enhancing Skills and Knowledge, Supervision and Mentoring

Day 2 (Assessment & Live/Simulation Practical Exam)

• Morning: Revision of Day 1, Q&A session
• Written Assessment: CPD Questionnaire (30 multiple-choice & short answer questions – 80% pass mark)
• Practical Exam (live model or simulation):
• Anatomical marking on diagram/manikin
• Simulated injection technique (or live injection on model under supervision – optional)
• Complication scenario verbal exam (2 scenarios)
• Afternoon: Feedback, certificate presentation, insurance guidance

Summative Assessment (Day 2)

Students must pass all assessments to receive the CPD certificate.
